Get to know the Toastinator
Toasty has been riding rollercoasters since before he really should have. His first memory of a rollercoaster was on the Powder Keg at Silver Dollar City at the tender age of 4. His dad took him on it and immediately regretted it once he realized how wild the ride was gonna be. But our brave Toasty persevered through the trials and tribulations of the Powder Keg and emerged from that ride victoriously. Since that day, Toasty Coasters was born in his mind and he is so excited to share his love of roller coasters with the world.
And now for the world famous rankings…..
The Dollywood List: Kid’s Edition
-
This is a really good hanging family coaster for younger thrill seekers who want to get into coastineering.
-
A more intense family coaster. It can be a little scary at first but after you do it, you might want to go on it again.
-
A super immersive, super chill family coaster for everybody. I recommend not looking at previews ahead of time so that the first time experience feels super immersive.
-
One of the best in the park for younger and older thrill seekers. For the younger side of things, it can be scary to look at but it is really fun when you get on it.
-
A super good first launch coaster for newer coastineers that can help you ride more intense roller coasters.
-
It is one of the tallest rides in the park, so it can help you get rid of your fear of heights on coasters.
-
This is one of the most intense launch coasters at the park, so it can be super forceful. If you get motion sick, this might not be the ride for you.
-
This ride is a good first upside down coaster. For the best riding experience, Toasty recommends sitting in the front of the coaster.
-
This is a rough kiddie coaster which is good for really young riders like ages 3-5 years old. Do not recommend for over age 5 though since it is so rough.
-
I would not recommend this ride to new coastineers due to being the most intense coaster in the park. But it is GREAT for more intense riders.

-
Toasty really loves this coaster for it’s smooth loops, its thrilling drop, and impressive ending. It is just an overall banger ride!
Toasty Tip: Always try to get a seat in the front of the ride.
-
This ride is really good because of its rough wooden coaster feel. It has one of the best launch hills and is one of the tallest coasters in the park. This is one of Toasty’s personal favorites.
-
This ride has a really nice vertical lift and one of the most unique inversions in the world.
-
This ride is really a mix of an intense family coaster and a thrill ride. There are some good loops for such an old coaster.
-
This is the one and only hanging coaster at Dollywood and it is one of the best in the area. A good ride for everybody in the family.
-
This is a thrilling wooden coaster which has a rough drop which sets up the excitement for the rest of the ride.
-
This is a good family coaster but it might not be the best for thrill seekers, but it is definitely the most beautiful ride in the park.
Toasty Tip: Always try to get a seat in the front of the ride.
-
This is a good family coaster with a surprisingly intense launch, which is one of Toasty’s favorite launches.
-
This is a supposed family coaster with 3 launches, which in Toasty’s opinion, is too many. The first launch is surprisingly intense.
Toasty Tip: If you get motion sick, this might not be best ride for you.
-
In Toasty’s opinion, this is just a BAD ride. It is super rough and just should not be a kiddie coaster.
The King’s Island List: Kids Edition
-
This is a good family ride which is the most casual wooden coaster in the park.
Toasty Tip: For more air time, grab a seat in the back for this ride.
-
This is a really smooth family coaster and can introduce going backwards to new riders.
-
This is a pretty intense family coaster and can introduce the idea of going upside down to early coastineers.
Toasty Note: This ride does not actually go upside down, but the side to side swings can get a rider comfortable with the motions so that going upside down seems less scary.
-
This is a REALLY GOOD wood coaster and can be scary at first. But in all of it’s 50 years, there have been no injuries.
-
This is a good coaster to start with if you are scared of heights or the speed of coasters.
-
This is the most intense ride in the park so don’t expect it to be the most chill ride but for intense rides, it is not the worst.
-
This is a pretty rough coaster but it still might be the best family ride in the park since it is a really good mine train.
-
This is a taller and faster Diamondback - it is basically just the same, so if you like Diamondback, you will LOVE this.
Toasty Tip: Try to find a seat in the front to experience the feeling of flying on this ride.
-
This is the oldest ride in the park, so it is pretty janky but it is still a really good ride. Toasty LOVES this ride.
Toasty Tip: Sit in the back for the best airtime.
-
This is a pretty forceful family coaster. The first helix can be super intense but it is good to learn to handle it.
-
Since it is in the dark, it can be the best way to go upside down on a coaster in the world.
-
This is a really good upside down and backwards coaster to start with for new riders.
-
This is just a mini version of the Beast. So this is a great coaster if you are nervous to ride the real one.
-
This is a super janky hanging coaster and to be honest, this is not the best coaster…it is probably the worst ride in the park. But it is still an okay ride.
-
This is an okay kiddie coaster but if you have even gone on a family or thrill coaster, I would not recommend this ride.
Toasty Tip: If you do decide to ride this one, get a seat in the back for maximum air time.
